KURSINFORMATIONEN

Vincent Dubois ist seit 2016 Organist an Notre-Dame de Paris und gilt als einer der großen Organisten der internationalen Szene. Er gewann u.a. den renommierten Royal Bank International Organ Competition Calgary und den Xavier-Darasse-Wettbewerb Toulouse. Als Solist konzertiert er mit renommierten Orchestern weltweit und gibt seine Leidenschaft für Interpretation und Improvisation in Meisterkursen in ganz Europa, Nordamerika und Asien weiter. Die Ausdruckskraft und Poesie seines Spiels ist von dem Pianisten Pierre Froment geprägt. Fasziniert von der Kunst der Improvisation seit frühester Kindheit und geprägt durch die Begegnung mit Philippe Lefèbvre im Alter von 16 Jahren, gilt er heute als einer der brillantesten Improvisatoren.
Improvisieren bedeutet manchmal „ins kalte Wasser springen“! Voraussetzung dafür ist eine Leidenschaft für Kreativität und Repertoire. Der Kurs steht allen Organistinnen und Organisten offen, egal ob professionell oder nicht, die in vorgegebenen Vokabularen und Formen (Barock, Romantik, Postromantik,
Moderne) oder auch frei improvisieren möchten. Um die stilistische Improvisation zu veranschaulichen, sind Ausflüge in das Repertoire erforderlich.


TEILNAHMEBEDINGUNGEN

1. Teilnehmerkreis: Kirchenmusiker/innen, Studierende an Musikhochschulen und Kirchenmusikschulen.
   
   
2. Kursgebühren: € 180 (aktive Teilnahme), € 120 (passive Teilnahme).
   
   
3. Anmeldung: Die Anmeldung muss bis zum 8. Juni 2026 erfolgen und kommt mit der Anmeldebestätigung des Veranstalters zustande. Der Anmeldung sind eine Kurzvita zu Ausbildung und Tätigkeit (max. 1 Seite) beizulegen.
   
   
4. Kursort und Unterrichtszeiten (vorbehaltlich Änderungen):
   Heilig-Kreuz-Münster, Münsterplatz, 73525 Schwäbisch Gmünd
   Mittwoch bis Freitag, 5.8. bis 7.8.2026
   an Vor- und Nachmittagen. Der Improvisationskurs mündet am Freitag um 18.30 Uhr in ein Abschlusskonzert. Die aktiv Teilnehmenden erklären sich zu einer (honorarfreien) Mitwirkung bereit, sofern sie vom Kursleiter dafür ausgewählt werden.

COURSE INFORMATION

Vincent Dubois has been the organist at Notre-Dame de Paris since 2016 and is considered one of the leading organists on the international scene. He has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Royal Bank International Organ Competition in Calgary and the Xavier Darasse Competition in Toulouse. As a soloist, he performs with renowned orchestras worldwide and shares his passion for interpretation and improvisation in masterclasses throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. The expressiveness and poetry of his playing are influenced by the pianist Pierre Froment. Fascinated by the art of improvisation since early childhood and profoundly impacted by his encounter with Philippe Lefebvre at the age of 16, he is now considered one of the most brilliant improvisers.
Improvising sometimes means "taking the plunge!" A passion for creativity and repertoire is essential. The course is open to all organists, whether professional or amateur, who wish to improvise within established vocabularies and forms (Baroque, Romantic, Post-Romantic, Modern) or freely.
Excursions into the repertoire are necessary to illustrate stylistic improvisation.

3. Registration: The application has to be declared until June 8, 2026 and will be valid after confirmation by the organizer. Enclosed must be a current
   curriculum vitae including studies and activities/occupation (max. 1 page).
   
   
4. Course location and times (subject to change):
   Heilig-Kreuz-Münster, Münsterplatz, 73525 Schwäbisch Gmünd
   Wednesday August 5 till Friday August 7, morning and afternoon. The master class will finish with a public concert, Friday, 6.30 p.m.
   The active participants agree with a possible performance (free of charge), if they will be chosen by the teacher.
